Not about the National Team, SORRY, but about David Beckham. Sorry to all those who are not LA Galaxy fans, I'm not either, but I think is an interesting piece of news. I opened a topic once with a piece of news on the forum as I saw it did not work (nobody answered it) I'll try here.

Los Angeles Galaxy coach Bruce Arena insists David Beckham remains a key part of his plans and has pledged his support to the former England captain in his bid to make a full recovery from his ruptured left Achilles tendon.

David Beckham, who has been on loan at AC Milan from the LA Galaxy in a bid to prove his fitness to England manager Fabio Capello, yesterday underwent a successful operation on the injury which has ended his chances of appearing at  World Cup 2010.

The 34-year-old's hopes of resuming his career were boosted by the operation in Finland yesterday, and Arena is convinced the player still has a role to play in Major League Soccer.

"Injuries are an unfortunate part of our game and they are even more disappointing when they happen to a player who was so close to realising his dream of representing his nation at this summer's World Cup," Arena said in a statement issued by the LA Galaxy.

"We will give David our complete support to make sure that he is able to get himself back to full health before he returns to the field. David remains an important player for the Galaxy and we look forward to welcoming him back to the club and assisting him in his recovery."

Beckham pulled up with the injury during Milan's Serie A encounter with Chievo on Sunday without coming into contact with anyone else.

Professor Sakari Orava, Beckham's surgeon, anticipates it will be a minimum of six months before the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star can play again.
